PUBLIC HEARING AGENDA FOR THE CITY OF NORFOLK BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS JANUARY 18, 2018 A public meeting of the Norfolk Board of Zoning Appeals will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018, in the 11th Floor City Council Chambers, City Hall Building in Norfolk, Virginia to consider the following: NORFOLK BUILDING CORP., for an appeal from the decision of the Zoning Administrator to declare the subdivision of properties located at 1101-1113 E. Leicester Avenue and zoned R-8 (Single-Family) district a "Common plan of development or sale." 411 YORK, LLC, for a variance on property located at 409 York Street and zoned HC-WF2 (West Freemason Historic and Cultural Conservation) district to allow for the construction of a 70-square foot building addition within the required interior side and rear yard setbacks, and in excess of the 67% maximum lot coverage percentage; in violation of Table 9-B "Development Standards," of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Norfolk, 1992, as amended. ASHBY VAIL AND JOSEPH T. WALDO, for a variance on property located at 7477 North Shore Road and zoned R-1 (Single-Family) district to allow for the construction of a building addition with a design floor elevation located 0.8-feet below the minimum required design flood elevation; in violation of section 11-3.10(a) "General standards in the Floodplain, Coastal Floodplain and Coastal High Hazard districts" of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Norfolk, 1992, as amended. ELECTRI-CITY SERVICES, LLC by GARY S. SALTER, for an appeal of a zoning violation on property located at 1116 Virgilina Avenue, Suite C and zoned R-8 (Single-Family) district regarding the expansion of a nonconforming use (addition of a residential dwelling unit) and for operating a use not permitted in the zoning district (multi-family) in violation of sections 12-4, "expansion of nonconforming use," and 4-8.2, "uses" of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Norfolk, 1992, as amended.
