CALL FOR AGENCY APPLICATIONS -- EFSP Program NORFOLK and PORTSMOUTH have been awarded Federal Funds made available through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Federal Emergency Management Agency under the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP). Norfolk has been awarded $103,275 and Portsmouth has been awarded $47,535 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs within each jurisdiction. A local board will determine how funds will be distributed, dependent upon current local priorities regarding emergency food and/or shelter. Agencies eligible to apply for EFSP funding MUST: be private, voluntary non-profits, public non-profits or units of government; be eligible to receive federal funds; have an accounting system; practice non-discrimination; have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs and if a private voluntary organization, have a voluntary board. Applications are available at www.unitedwayshr.org. Applications must be RECEIVED by the EFSP Coordinator by mail or delivery no later than 4 PM, Friday, June 15, 2018.
